STUDIO POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

It is understood that by attending Premiere Dance & Theatre Arts Academy that students and parents comply with all Policies & Procedures as set out by Premiere Dance & Theatre Arts Academy.  It is also understood that parents and students cannot hold their instructors or Premiere Dance & Theatre Arts Academy liable or responsible for any type of injury, damages, lost or stolen items.

Dance Attire Requirements Appropriate Dancewear and Hairstyle is required for all students in all classes.  Students are required to have proper equipment for any examinations, competitions or performances.

Instructors have the right to deny active participation to a student who is not properly attired for classes.  Students may be told to watch the class only and/or be asked to change into proper attire.

NO Jewelry, chewing gum, food, street clothes & street shoes:  These are forbidden in the studios for safety reasons and to protect the dance studio facilities.  We strongly urge that jewelry be removed and left safely at home.

Communication
The Premiere Dance & Theatre Arts Academy website is regularly updated with our special events so that everyone can have easy access to information about the busy life of our dance studios.  We require your email address to provide extra information to you and answer any questions.  A bulletin board is also set up in the studio featuring our policies and special events.  Paper copy newsletters will no longer be handed out to students but are available by request only at the studio office.  Invoicing and statements are done through email but paper copies can be requested at the studio office.

Discussions between instructors, parents and students can be arranged by appointment only, not during or between classes. Please do not hesitate to contact the office to schedule an appointment at your convenience.  We want to establish an Open Door Policy so that students, instructors and parents feel welcome to discuss any questions or concerns or just to stop by to visit.

Changerooms
Students should change in the change rooms and leave all belongings either in the change room or stored safely in a locker – not in the waiting room or on the floors or in the corridors.  They may bring their dance shoes with them into the studios if they have a shoe change.  Premiere Dance and its employees are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

ZERO Tolerance for Bullying
Our policy is posted for public viewing.  It is strictly enforced to ensure a positive environment for all students to learn and enjoy the classes and activities at the studio.

Cleanliness, Food & Drink
Please remove soiled and wet boots at the door.  We would like to maintain a clean environment for the dancers bare feet and dance shoes because they need to use the carpeted hallway to get to and from the studios.

No food or chewing gum is allowed in the studios or changerooms.  Students are allowed to take water in plastic bottles with lids into the studios, however, not in cups or glassware.  All students are encouraged to properly use garbage and recycling cans.  We also request that all clients’ wash any dishes they use and let them dry on the drain rack.

Throughout the Year if you have any questions or concerns, please call the studios by telephone or email to make an appointment or visit us in person during office hours.

Karen Marie Belyea, Artistic Director
