Katelyn Olsen
Originally from Haydon ON, Katelyn Olsen began her dance training at the age of 11 at Precisions Dance Company and was a loyal student until graduating in 2014. She trained in various styles including ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, acro, musical theatre, tap, and ballroom. She has been assisting, teaching, and choreographing since the age of 13. Olsen has successfully completed many ballet examinations in the RAD and Cecchetti syllabus, as well as jazz and tap examinations in the ADAPT syllabus. She has performed on many stages across Canada and the United States through con- ventions, festivals, competitions, and summer intensives. In summer of 2014 she performed in New York City at the A.C.E Capezio Choreography Awards as well as the Carnival Choreographers’ Ball in Los Angeles. After graduation she moved to Toronto and began training in the Performance Dance program at Ryerson University. She is a recent graduate of The School of Toronto Dance Theatre, where she trained with leading professionals in the field. She has performed works by Peggy Baker, Christopher House, Hanna Kiel, Louis Laberge-Côté, Sharon B. Moore, Tedd Robinson, Julia Sasso, Ofilio Sinbadinho, Darryl Tracy, and Apolonia Velasquez.
